Planning of nursing services ensures:
- Adequate number of trained nurses
- Quality nursing care

- At the national level, nursing education and practice are regulated by:
- Indian Nursing Council (INC)
- State Nursing Councils (SNCs)
At the global level, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) works to improve nursing standards, education, and professional ethics worldwide.
